What are the environmental, economic and social effects of products and
services along their life-cycle? Assessment studies on such questions should be
comprehensive, i.e. they should integrate all dimensions of “sustainable
development” and the total life-cycle of products and services. At the same
time, to keep expenditures on time and money within reasonable limits,
“life-cycle sustainability assessment” should focus on a limited number of
parameters with relevant influences in the investigated systems.
