Sustainable thinking and acting

„Connecting the economy, ecology and society“

Our challenge is to optimize the economic potential of businesses and regions while at the same time ensuring protection of the environment and meeting social standards is a challenge. We support our customers with knowledge in the areas of synergy utilization, risk minimization and how to gain acceptance from interested groups. We create, together with our customers, simple and sustainable structures and solutions, which can be independently maintained.

Life Cycle Thinking
Political measures to regulate the flows of substances and to improve the sustainable use of resources often address only certain sectors in the life-cycle of materials and products. It often remains unclear, if those measures will actually cause relevant effects in the total life-cycle. Especially the relevance of the use-phase of products is often underestimated, and at the same time optimisation potentials in the phases production and waste management are often overestimated.

Sustainability Report
Which values does your company represent? Where does your company stand right now in respect to sustainability in economic, social and ecological areas? The sustainability report shows what the company performance ratings are at present and which challenges have to be faced in the future. A sustainability report is above all however an identification attribute for the client and supplier. The report shows a collective attitude and business practise and distinguishes you from your competitors.

Sustainable Management System
The purpose of sustainable management is the long term protection of the enterprise through the systematic examination of economic, social and ecological requirements. Our focus is on risk minimization and the improvement of potential value in order to increase economic, social and ecological values. With the construction of a Sustainability Balanced Scorecard, the enterprise receives a suitable instrument in order to guarantee the strategic objectives and the operational control.

Sustainability Indicators
What is measured, will be done! So that sustainability does not remain just a nice word, parameters are necessary to define the aim and to be able to check the results.

Impact Assessment
Impact Assessments aim at evaluating economic, ecological and/or social consequences of diverse projects. In this context denkstatt is focussing primarily on impact assessments in the legislative sector. By evaluating existing and planned laws and statutes, wrong decisions resulting from a lack of information can be avoided. Thus, legislation can be optimized and unnecessary or inefficient economic burdens can be avoided.

Product Assessment

What are the environmental, economic and social effects of products and services along their life-cycle? Assessment studies on such questions should be comprehensive, i.e. they should integrate all dimensions of “sustainable development” and the total life-cycle of products and services. At the same time, to keep expenditures on time and money within reasonable limits, “life-cycle sustainability assessment” should focus on a limited number of parameters with relevant influences in the investigated systems.
